Theatre

A Christmas Carol

Chubby and MikeIn each of the past three holiday seasons, Mike appeared in the Tower Foundation and BEAT's adaptation of the Charles Dickens' classic 'A Christmas Carol'. He portrayed Bob Cratchit in each production adding Ol' Joe the last two years and Mr. Fezziwig in 2009.

Featuring a cast comprised of many of the area's top youth and adult actors, more than 1,500 guests enjoyed the four performances offered during the most recent holiday season production at the Tower Theatre.

A timeless message and a memorable time for the cast and our guests!

Couple Dating

Chubby and MikeMike enjoyed a memorable turn as Scott, part of a swinging couple, in the locally-written, locally-produced play, 'Couple Dating', at 2nd Street Theatre in 2010.

Written by Bend resident, Cricket Daniel, 'Couple Dating' is an edgy, mature comedy about Brooklyn couple Bobby and Tess Marotta's journey to connect with other young married couples with small children. Three dates are scheduled with other couples and, well, the hilarity ensues.

A great cast featuring Jeremy Johnson, Vanessa Farnsworth, PJ Mann, Kym Allen, "The Brad" Knowles. Rachel Stitz, and Jenny MacKenzie vividly brought the various characters to life. entertaining more than a thousand guests laughed, saw themselves and created quite a buzz in Bend!

Buckboard Murder Mysteries

Quote logoMike performs as an actor regularly with Buckboard Murder Mysteries, offering on-site, interactive entertainment at public and private events throughout Central Oregon and beyond.

Buckboard features many of Central Oregon's most active and adept theatrical talent, many appearing regularly in productions at Greenwood Playhouse and 2nd Street Theatre.

Amongst the roles played:

  • Ben, the somewhat crazy miner in the gold country mystery, Who Shot the Sheriff
  • The Godfather in the popular Buckboard offering, The Mafioso Murders.
  • Georgie Gorgeous in the class reunion mystery, Lights, Camera, Murder
  • Arrogant French winemaker Pierre Pinot Noir in Eat, Drink and Be Deadly

In addition, Mike enjoyed a hilarious turn as Duncan Disorderly in Buckboard's first melodrama, a turn-of-the-century piece called 'Dirty Deeds at the Depot' in Centennial Park celebrating Redmond's centennial in 2010.

The combination of a scripted murder mystery with sometimes unpredictable audience participation offers a memorable time for our guests and a unique challenge as an actor!

  • Pocket Fulla Bolts Role: Angry, vengeful drug dealer

Improvisation

Triage as paparazzi Mike performs with Central Oregon’s leading improv troupe, Triage, at various public and private events. Triage has entertained at events as varied as a dog’s birthday party, a wedding reception, a teacher’s retirement party, and at numerous local fundraisers.

Triage has performed several regular stints at Central Oregon restaurants and theatres, including Shanghai Joe’s, Bon Bien, the 541 Lounge and the Cabaret on Greenwood. Triage regularly performs at the Greenwood Playhouse between production runs.

Triage frequently serves as paparazzi at events, playing the roles of reporters, photographers, fans and more.

Energetic, creative and always unpredictable, Triage performs improv in the style of the games and bits from the popular series ‘Who’s Line Is It Anyway’.

DJ/Emcee

You will not find a more experienced, versatile and energetic entertainer than Mike.  Since 1986, he has DJed hundreds of wedding receptions, fundraisers, class reunions, political affairs, corporate events, hoedowns, sock hops and more.

His varied theatrical background embellishes his emcee work with charm ,grace, timeliness, and flair.  he has emceed events for Bend2030, High Lakes School, 106.7 KPOV, Westside magnet School and more.

Dancer

Image descriptionMike specializes in the often overlook but always popular fabulous fad dances of the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Since Mike first performed as regular on the 50's Dance Party on TV20 in the late 1980's, he has shared his love of the Twist, Mashed Potato, Hand Jive, Motown Shuffle, Bristol Stomp and more with thousands of party guests throughout the west.

In addition, Mike has taught country line and partner dancing, including two tours of England in the 1990's.  During the crazy days of the 1990's, Mike choreographed 15 line dances and routines for events featuring Western dance.

Mike has also taught and performed West Coast and East Coast swing dancing and has taught the Hustle and Rollercoaster from the disco daze of the 1970's--all with his irrepressible humor and joy.
