Play-by-Play
Mike is Central Oregon’s most active sportscaster. During the past four plus years, Mike
called more than 40 football games, 70 basketball games and 60
baseball games. In addition, he served as public address announcer
for more than 30 baseball and basketball games.
Mike is on the staff of COTV/Zolo Media calling
high school football, soccer and basketball games throughout Central
Oregon. In addition, when he is not on the air for COTV, Mike
frequently serves as a statistician for the telecasts.
Mike also serves as the voice of the Bend Elks
on 88.9 KPOV, offering play-by-play for the local nine’s West Coast
League home games with Tristan “The Speaker” Reisfar and Chuck “The
Mailman” Malley.
Serving as the voice of Crook County High
School sports for four years, Mike called the action for ten
football games and eighteen boys’ and girls’ basketball games
annually on AM690 and 96.9 FM KRCO.
Mike has also enjoyed working with Dave Jarvis on
KBND sports broadcasts.
Bend North Little League
Mike
served as a coach and league information officer with
Bend North Little
League for several years. Currently, he umpires games for
the BNLL and had the honor staffing four District 5 Juniors'
games and a state Little League game in 2011.
Public Address Announcer
Mike served as public address announcer for
the 2011 Oregon State Little League Baseball Tournament, the Bend Elks and, for the past two holiday seasons, for
the Summit High School basketball tournament.
He has also announced for baseball tournaments in the Bay Area.
Currently, he is working on a public address manual for
employment at Summit High School.
Soccer
Continuing
an active family tradition of involvement in soccer—Mike’s
father played, Tina’s father was a long-time top level official
in Santa Rosa, Tina was a scholarship-worthy high school player
and Cameron is captain of the 96 Oregon Rush Swoosh team—Mike is
a grade 8 certified official and an assignor in Oregon.
Mike serves as assignor for the inaugural Bend Premier Cup and
the Central Oregon Shootout in 2010. He is the assignor for the
Central Oregon Soccer League.
He has officiated games for OYSA, the Central Oregon Men’s
League, the Central Oregon Soccer League, the Oregon Premier League,
the Mount Hood Challenge, the Chinook Cup, the Central Oregon
Shootout and the Waterfront Tournament in Salem.
This fall, he added high school soccer officiating, staffing local games in Central
Oregon.
